Lil Tomato was still breathing so it was decided to return him to his nest. It was a precious moment holding this hefty baby dinosaur in the palm of my hand under the watchful eyes of his parents.
Later in the day, mom Robin who always flies to a nearby tree when we’re at the table, flew onto the stone wall just a few feet away with a worm in her mouth for Lil Tomato. She waited while we got up and went inside. Fingers crossed for Lil Tomato.
Meanwhile we are in a battle royal with a pigeon family on the same porch. Those mother tuckers are filthy poop factories and are getting all day raids of vinegar filled super-soakers and nerf darts. Would we shoot them with air rifles, yes. Are we willing to blow out antique wavy glass window panes in the process, no.
